About Little Heart Warriors
Little Heart Warriors was created by a group of mothers with children with severe Congenital Heart Defects(CHD). We want to share our stories with others and educate our community, as well as pay it forward to help as many families during their own journey with Congenital Heart Disease as possible
Little Heart Warriors events will donate the proceeds to families at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital’s Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. LLUCH’s mission is to continue the healting ministry of Christ, focusing on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and their families. Also, they seek to enhance the lives of our community’s children by delivering the promise of a healthier future today. With 40,000 CHD babies born each year, CHD is the #1 birth defect in the United States.
To provide support both financial and emotional, for families of children diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, and pediatric patients in need of a heart transplant. Our goal is to provide assistance to families with extra costs incurred while caring for their affected child. These costs include but are not limited to: travel expenses to and from medical facilities, food expenses while away from home, along with care and lodging expenses while receiving care.
“Little Heart Warriors” members will organize a yearly walk/run to raise money, provide education and spread public awareness about the needs of pediatric cardiac patients and transplants. We also hope to assist fellow organizations associated with the care of pediatric cardiac patients and their families on an application or referral bases. “Little Heart Warriors” will provide an emotional stronghold for families in need, based on our own experiences with congenital heart defects and heart transplants.
